Neighbourhood Vibe.

Maple is a neighbourhood in the City of Vaughan, just north of Toronto. With the growth of Toronto, nearby suburbs such as Maple are growing rapidly. With easy access to the downtown core of Toronto, yet still with the peaceful atmosphere of a suburb, Maple is becoming a hotspot.

Canada’s Wonderland, a giant theme park and major attraction, is located in this neighbourhood. There are also a number of parks in the neighbourhood. Ramsey Armitage Park, Frank Robson Woodlot, Civic Park, among others. Maple Airport Park used to be a small airfield until 1987, and was established by Marion Orr, one of Canada’s first female pilots. It was a very busy airport until Maple, and Vaughan in general began to rapidly develop. Now it is a big park for people to enjoy.

The area is very family-friendly and all needs can be satisfied in the area. There are plenty of family restaurants, movie theatres and grocery shops.

There were two founding families of Maple, the Noble and the Rupert families. The Nobles settled where Major Mackenzie and Keele intersect today. The town used to be called Noble’s Corner in 1852. After this, there was a doctor named Doctor Rupert and he was so respected that the towns name was changed to Rupertsville. However, many of the townspeople called their home “Maple” because of the many maple trees that could be found along Keele Street. When the Canadian National Railway made a stop in the area, they named it “Maple.”
