Bobcaygeon, is a community on the Trent-Severn Waterway in the City of Kawartha Lakes. This community is known for it’s idyllic, picturesque downtown and beautiful waterfronts with an amazing history. It was the first lock to be built in the Trent-Severn Waterway, in 1833, the Village was incorporated in 1876 and it is known as the “Hub of the Kawarthas”. It is situated on three islands along with the main land and is met by both Sturgeon Lake & Pigeon Lake. It is home to the justly famous ice cream of the Kawartha Dairy and Bigley Shoes with its multiple stores on the main street. A settler’s Village, beach, museum , library and public pool. Bobcaygeon is a popular tourist town with many cottage visitors. It is also a place where many choose to retire to. It’s an easy place to live, central to major centres like Lindsay & Peterborough and only 2 hours from downtown Toronto.
