What will you miss most about your home:
We’ll miss the incredible sense of community on our block, friendly neighbours who look out for one another, the easy chats over the fence, and the overall feeling of safety and belonging. We’ll also miss the natural light that floods the back of the house in the afternoons and the time spent in our little backyard oasis under the magnolia tree.
These are the features we have grown to appreciate while living here:
We’ve come to really value how efficiently the home is laid out. Every space works hard and has a purpose. The thoughtful storage we’ve added has made it easy to live comfortably in a compact footprint. We also love how quiet the house feels despite being steps from Queen Street.
What aspects of the home’s room layout works particularly well for you:
The side-hall layout keeps the living spaces nicely separated while maintaining a good flow. The kitchen and dining nook at the back make it easy to entertain or enjoy a quiet meal with the patio doors open to the yard. Each room feels distinct yet connected.
I love the kitchen because:
It’s bright, open, and surprisingly spacious for a downtown home. The L-shaped layout makes cooking intuitive, and the full-size laundry tucked neatly on the opposite wall adds convenience. It’s where we spend most of our time, and it truly feels like the heart of the home.
We have done these improvements which are bound to be appreciated:
We fully renovated the main-floor bathroom with a curbless shower, seamless flooring, and a wall-mounted toilet for a clean, modern look. We added custom built-in bench seating with storage in the dining area, built-in cabinets in the living room that take advantage of the higher ceiling heights, optimizing storage in nearly every room. The freshly maintained basement apartment is bright and efficient despite the lower ceiling height.
Adjectives which you think best describe your home:
Efficient, bright, welcoming, well-loved, low-maintenance, and thoughtfully designed.
What are the key selling features of the neighbourhood:
The best of Trinity-Bellwoods is right at your doorstep, walkable to Queen Street West yet tucked away on a quiet, friendly street. Great cafes, restaurants, fitness studios, and two fantastic green grocers are just a short stroll away. The area has a great balance of long-time residents and new families, giving it a grounded, vibrant feel.
What are some of the changes you’ve seen over the years?
The neighbourhood has only gotten better with time. New independent shops and restaurants have moved in, local homes have been lovingly restored, and there’s a growing sense of pride among both owners and renters. The nearby laneway housing development has added fresh energy to the area without changing its character.
Best way to use public transit from here and how far is it away:
Transit is just minutes away in any direction. The Queen and Bathurst Streetcars are both quick walks, and major bike lanes off Palmerston connect easily to the wider Toronto network. We often find cycling to be the fastest and most enjoyable way to get around the city from here.
Your favourite neighbourhood walk (parks, etc):
Trinity Bellwoods Park is our go-to for a quick walk or coffee in the sunshine. We also love wandering through the nearby artful laneways and tree-lined streets, especially in the spring when the magnolias and cherry blossoms bloom.
Your neighbourhood shops:
Two small green grocers nearby keep us well-supplied with fresh produce, and there’s a great mix of local boutiques, bakeries, and convenience spots within walking distance. The GOAT spot we’ll reserve for CAAM Hardware in Kensington. It’s got almost everything you need and it’s run by the most helpful folks and holds a real special place in our hearts. It’s the kind of area where you can truly run all your errands on foot.
Your favourite restaurants, coffee shops etc:
Let’s be honest, we’re spoiled for choice. Some of our regular stops include Nadège and Cafe Belem for pastries, Blackbird in Kensington for bread (you have to try their Canelés too), Hamers on Dundas and Rooms on Ossington for coffee, and of course, Sud Forno for all of the above and gelato. We’ve also got cozy brunch spots nearby at Sisters & Co and Susie’s Rise & Dine. For date-night, we love Le Swan and Curryish Tavern is a real hidden gem. For a quick meal, we love Alpha’s Shawarmas and Pho Ha Noi. North of Brooklyn is perfect for an easy take-out option for evenings in the backyard. The mix of long-time favourites and new openings keeps things exciting..
Any other special details or hints that you would like to share:
The backyard feels like an extension of the living space, fully enclosed, private, and lush in the warmer months, with beautiful afternoon light. The garage off the private laneway adds so much practicality, offering both parking and room for a small workshop. Overall, it’s a home that makes city living feel calm, connected, and easy.
