About the Neighbourhood
Coboconk, ON
Nestled in the City of Kawartha Lakes in south-central Ontario, Coboconk (“Coby” to locals) is a small historic village of around 800 residents, first settled in 1851 and named from a First Nations phrase meaning “where the gulls nest”.
This home is located on the Gull River flowing into the northern tip of Balsam Lake. Coboconk holds the distinction of being the highest point in Canada—and in North America—from which a boater can circumnavigate the globe via the Trent–Severn Waterway.
Coboconk is more than a scenic stop—it’s an outdoor playground. The nearby Balsam Lake Provincial Park offers sandy beaches, wooded trails, camping and boat rentals, all set against the backdrop of the Trent–Severn Waterway.
