Wendy was born in Central Toronto and raised in one of those lovely, little pockets that this city has to offer known as Heath Bridge Park and later renamed by the local real estate agents as Bennington Heights. Here she learned family values. All the children walked to school, came home for lunch, and sometimes the teacher was asked to join the family for lunch. After school the kids played ball, hide and seek, and skipping outside. No one locked doors. Wendy participated in Brownies as a sixer, ballet lessons and figure skating lessons with Osborne Colson where she won a trophy for Ice Dancing at Leaside Skating Club.

In her early teens, Wendy’s first paying job was working behind the counter at a local bakery where she soon learned her people skills, to count money and make change. At the same time, she auditioned and was selected to model at I.O.D.E. fashion shows held in Bloor West Village. Only after a promise to finish her education, was this allowed to be the beginning of a long and successful career of modeling in fashion shows, photography, an ACTRA membership and commercial work. This eventually led to achieving a long term television commercial contract, the holy grail of the modeling world, with Kraft Foods that lasted 15 years. The viewers would see Wendy’s hands demonstrating the steps of preparing Kraft recipes in television commercials that sponsored shows such as WKRP in Cincinnati, The Carol Burnett Show, etc., and many Kraft specials.

Wendy started her second career, in real estate sales, after buying a home in Leaside. She loved viewing homes, speaking with agents at open houses and following the ads in the local papers. Being a people person along with an obsession for detail and no fear of hard work she determined it was a good fit. Wendy obtained her real estate license in 1983 and became a member of TREB, OREA and CREA and immediately sold her first house in Cabbage Town. Over the years she has won many sales awards, has several references, has a large referral network, provides excellent service, is well respected within the real estate industry, and has a large database of satisfied customers. Also, Wendy is a member of the Canadian Condominium Institute and has enthusiastically enrolled in several condo courses. This gave her clients an advantage and served them well by gaining valuable knowledgeable regarding the Condo Act and condo living. Wendy believes in giving back to the community and has served on the condo board where she resides for two terms as a director and one term as vice president.

In recent years, Wendy has teamed up with Catherine Elder, a colleague at Sage Real Estate. This business partnership gives Wendy more family time to spend with her life partner and blended family of a son, two daughters, and five grandchildren. As well, it offers more free time to enjoy the little jaunts out of town, being with friends and nearby family, walking 10 miles per week, resistance training, a daily yoga practice, meditation, and volunteering to name a few.  Catherine and Wendy work well together and offer many years of combined real estate experience. They have the same commitment to excellence and they care.

“Wendy Yarlett recently closed two transactions with my family – a sale transaction and purchase transaction and I wanted to acknowledge her assistance.
Although all my communications with Wendy were by telephone, I can say that she is a very thoughtful and professional agent and that she sincerely cares about her clients. Wendy endured some difficult circumstances working on both transactions and I’m sure at times, she may have wanted to turn her attention to other things. However, her calm and steady disposition allowed us to get the transactions completed. Please feel free to use my name as a reference in the future if you are promoting business involving Wendy Yarlett.”

“I am pleased to tell you that my property sold firm. I attribute this to the experience, dedication and professionalism of Wendy Yarlett. Wendy made the sale of my home an effortless and enjoyable event. Her knowledge of the industry, her attention to detail, her calm, professional attitude with prospective purchasers and other agents paved the way to an extremely successful result.
During this time… both exciting and stressful… Wendy was always available to assist me and to answer questions. She kept me informed of the process and the possibilities. I could not have been more confident or comfortable of a positive outcome.
I will recommend Wendy to all, and hopefully we can work together again in the future.”
